Montréal, October 27, 2022 – The whole team at BNP Philanthropic Performance is very pleased to welcome new member Perrine Barbier to a position of Campaign Co‑ordinator and Philanthropy Consultant. Her knowledge and understanding of the field of philanthropy will broaden the firm’s expertise and help support organizations in all parts of Quebec.
A start in trade and translation for Perrine
After completing an MA in literature at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 from 2001 to 2005, Perrine spent a year at the University of Otago in New Zealand, obtaining a BA in history. From 2006 to 2007 she earned an MA in teaching French as a foreign language at Université de Rouen Normandie.
After completing her studies, Perrine began her professional career with several years as an export co‑ordinator for JF Hillebrand in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France. When the travel bug bit, it was time for a couple of years’ sabbatical. Back in France, Perrine continued with JF Hillebrand for a year, from 2010 to 2011.
Switching to literary pursuits, Perrine worked in Lyon as a translator specializing in drug safety for Sanofi Pasteur MSD (known as Merck in Canada) from July 2011 to April 2012. After coming to Montréal, for six years Perrine was a youth sales assistant and education representative at the Hachette Canada publishing house.
Recovering values and aspirations in philanthropy
When her children arrived, Perrine realized it was time for a new career direction. Wanting most of all to be involved in a field that reflected and promoted her values and aspirations, in January 2020 she began part‑time studies toward the Certificat en Gestion Philanthropique at Université de Montréal and, at the same time, joined the Villeray seniors’ centre as an assistant, remaining until June 2021.
After discovering the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Quebec Chapter, Perrine was a freelance manager of communications, administrative activities, and event organization and co‑ordination for the AFP from June 2021 to September 2022.
Perrine at the service of pan-Canadian organizations
Throughout her career, Perrine has distinguished herself as a thoughtful, collegial and imaginative woman. She enjoys not only research that calls for concentration but also creativity that that gets things done.
Today, Perrine joins BNP Philanthropic Performance as a Campaign Co‑ordinator and Philanthropy Consultant. Her extensive experience and sound understanding of the field of philanthropy make her a talented resource person for the firm and for the organizations with which she will be working, including La Petite Maison sur La Prairie and the Cuisine collective Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
“Today we welcome Perrine to our team of Montréal-based consultants. Her experience in the field of philanthropy will be an asset in maintaining and expanding the firm’s presence in all parts of Canada, allowing us to offer strategic philanthropic and organizational support to even more organizations. In recent months we have been actively expanding our team of dedicated consultants so that we can serve and assist organizations from coast to coast to coast. Our development priority is to offer support to an ever-greater range of organizations, and we are proud to attract inspired, motivated, expert individuals,” affirmed Christian Bolduc, CEO of BNP Philanthropic Performance and BNP Goldie Canada.
